After spending a couple hours in the sun it is okay to put on sunscreen but tries only applying to sunscreen that has only SPF 15 protection because it’s all your skin really needs to be protected with properly. The real reason people aren’t getting enough vitamin D into their diet in the first place is that we stay inside too much and don’t get enough sunlight, which is harmful to our health.
The next best way to get vitamin D is by drinking a lot of milk, eating a lot of yogurts, and lots of greens. If you were to drink three large glasses of milk a day or eat three small containers of yogurt along with some green veggies and fruit, you would get all the vitamin D you could possibly need. If you don’t like eating veggies or can’t eat dairy take a calcium supplement, but I highly recommend you try eating and drinking items that contain vitamin D because it’s a better source of vitamin D. A fun way to get vitamin D into your body without even knowing it is by eating ice cream and lots of it!
